Avaya Aura

Reset Avaya System Manager Password

Working with the Avaya Aura System Manager (SMGR), you will eventually find yourself locked out of the web GUI. This most commonly happens if a password times out, and the ‘new’ password change goes unrecorded. The following steps will outline how to reset the admin password for Avaya Aura System Manager web GUI.

These steps were used in conjunction with Avaya Aura System Manager version 6.3.10.2657 (deployed from System Manager Mid-Size Enterprise 6.2.2 template with SP4). See the end of this posting for any other software (and corresponding versions) used in conjunction with these steps. I’m certainly they’ll work with […]

Avaya Aura Template Installation from System Platform – Could not mount DVD/CD

Avaya Aura Template Installation from System Platform – Could not mount DVD/CD

I recently spun Avaya Aura 6.2 Mid-Sized Enterprise software onto an HP DL360G7 server. After the installation of System Platform, the process requires that you install the VM templates. Avaya recommends that this be done by downloading the template *.iso files from the PLD, and burning them to DVDs. AVAYA SIte Administration – Unlocking a ‘locked’ command

AVAYA SIte Administration – Unlocking a ‘locked’ command

Point is, when you lose connectivity while making changes to any Avaya data set, you may find yourself ‘locked out’ of that same data set upon logging back into ASA. Unlocking these data sets is fairly straight forward, but it can be frustrating if you’ve never encountered this problem.

From emulation, type “status logins”.

Watch out Cisco, here comes Avaya!

Today, while taking a break from playing with some gear in the Alta3 Research labs, I found an interesting article while running a search on ‘SIP’ in GoogleNews. Not-so-surprisingly, Avaya’s name popped up in several headlines. As I just finished helping write Alta3 Research’s course on Avaya SIP Trunking, I thought this might be an opportune time to comment on why Avaya and SIP are becoming so intimately entwined.

Avaya recently made a press statement at the U.S./Gov Sales Leadership and Partner Conference, reminding the public that they have released 60+ products in less than two years- more than Avaya had […]
